About the Role
Aveni builds production-ready agentic systems for financial institutions. Recognized as Fintech of the Year for two consecutive years, backed by Puma Private Equity, commercially supported by Lloyds Banking Group and Nationwide Building Society. Aveni started as a University of Edinburgh spinout developing FinLLM — the UK's first LLM for Financial Services.
As Staff Software Engineer, you will be the senior technical leader within a product squad, establishing technical direction and architectural decisions. Lead AI-powered product development, design LLM workflows, RAG pipelines, and agentic features that run on top of their AI platform in production at scale. Promote AI coding tools across the development lifecycle.
Requirements:
- 10+ years as a seasoned engineer with proven AI/ML production experience
- Hands-on expertise in prompt engineering, RAG, model evaluation, and agent frameworks
- Deep proficiency in Node.js or Python
- AWS cloud-native development (serverless, Lambda, event-driven patterns)
- React frontend
- Commitment to responsible building for FCA-regulated financial services
Salary: £80,000 - £120,000
Location: United Kingdom (Remote)
