AI Engineer - Category Strategy Optimization Platform, FinTech

Booking.com seeks an AI Engineer to serve as the internal technical lead for a procurement-focused AI platform developed collaboratively with a third-party vendor. The role combines AI engineering expertise with oversight of external development, focusing on system architecture, data integration, and implementation within Booking.com's procurement ecosystem (Ivalua, Conga, ORO).

Key responsibilities:

• Validating platform architecture alignment with Booking.com's procurement systems
• Technically steering vendor development
• Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Reviewing vendor deliverables
• Developing integration scripts and Booking-specific extensions
• Supporting CI/CD automation and model deployment
• Identifying optimization opportunities

Required Qualifications:

• 4-8 years professional experience in AI engineering, MLOps, and application development
• Fluency in Python and SQL; working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript
• Strong understanding of AI agent architectures, LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, function calling, RAG, and LLM orchestration
• Hands-on experience with LangChain; familiarity with LangGraph and CrewAI
• Proficiency in Docker containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and model versioning
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Nice-to-Have: Procurement domain knowledge, MLflow or Weights & Biases, React/Next.js
