About the Role
Grafana Labs is the company behind Grafana, the leading open source observability platform. We're hiring a Staff AI Engineer to own end-to-end development of multi-agent AI systems and the automation platform for our Marketing Operations organization.
LOCATION
Canada (Remote) — Quebec residents are not eligible.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Agentic Systems & AI Infrastructure
- Own end-to-end development of multi-agent AI systems, from architecture and implementation through testing
- Build composable agentic systems using orchestration frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, and Anthropic MCP
- Develop reusable agentic skills across interfaces (Slack, dashboards, CLIs)
- Implement observability, logging, performance metrics, and cost management
- Establish governance for AI workflows with access controls and audit trails
Systems Integration & Backend Services
- Build MCP servers, APIs, and microservices connecting AI to business systems
- Architect data flows for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), connecting LLMs to internal knowledge bases
- Deploy serverless services (GCP Cloud Functions, Cloud Run)
Automation & Workflow Enablement
- Partner with RevOps and marketing teams on high-impact automation
- Design workflows using orchestration tools (n8n, Workato)
- Build self-service systems with documentation and enablement materials
REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years software engineering; 2+ years production LLM/AI experience
- Proficiency: Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Git workflows
- Hands-on: prompt engineering, RAG, function calling, structured outputs
- Multi-agent systems experience at scale
- GCP, BigQuery, serverless services expertise
- Understanding of LLM failure modes and production mitigations
TOOLS & FRAMEWORKS
- LLM Frameworks: LangChain, CrewAI, Anthropic MCP
- Orchestration: n8n, Workato, Temporal, Prefect, Airflow
- Vector Databases: Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, Qdrant, pgvector
- Observability: LangSmith, Weights & Biases
COMPENSATION
CAD 186,368 – CAD 223,642 base, plus RSUs and benefits.
