Data Scientist / AI Engineer

Nordea is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist / AI Engineer to build and scale Generative AI applications within the Group Financial Crime Prevention unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and prototype high impact GenAI projects with business stakeholders
• Build, deploy and monitor production-grade AI applications
• Design evaluation frameworks for application quality
• Establish best practices and architecture for GenAI development
• Mentor team members through collaborative work
• Ensure compliance with risk and responsible AI standards

Required Skills & Experience

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or related field (equivalent practical experience acceptable)
• 2+ years building and deploying production ML/AI systems in Python
• 1 year+ experience developing generative AI applications, using LLM APIs, RAG, modern orchestration, agent-based patterns or other relevant technologies
• Strong systems design capabilities for ML/AI applications
• Prototyping and production deployment track record
• Structured testing and experimentation abilities
