AI Engineer

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud. Our Integrations, Data Engineering, and AI (IDEA) team is hiring a hands-on AI Engineer to develop and scale AI applications end-to-end.

Remote – United States.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build, ship, and own end-to-end AI-powered applications, from ideation and prototyping through production deployment and iteration
• Architect and scale company-wide GenAI capabilities and domain-specific business applications
• Design and integrate AI solutions with internal systems, SaaS tools, APIs, and enterprise platforms across Customer Support, HR, Legal, and Finance
• Apply software engineering best practices to production AI systems regarding reliability and observability
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline
• 5+ years industry experience in software engineering or AI product development
• 3+ years owning development, testing, deployment, monitoring of web applications and backend APIs
• 1+ year building and deploying production-ready Generative AI solutions, with responsibility for reliability and performance
• Strong Python expertise and AI/ML fundamentals, particularly GenAI
• Experience with AI agent frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, MCP, A2A

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• 0→1 MVP development and evolving prototypes into production systems
• Stays current with AI development trends, tools, and industry practices
• Knowledgeable about SDLC best practices and modern AI development patterns
• Excellent cross-functional communicator translating business needs into technical solutions

COMPENSATION

$101,745–$171,000 USD annually, plus performance-based bonus/variable pay and equity (RSU grants with no vesting cliff). Comprehensive health and parental leave plans, professional development stipend, flexible employee-led remote work.
