Role Details
Full-Time, Permanent position. Start date: as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
The position involves leading design and delivery of AI-powered services using public LLMs, owning end-to-end feature lifecycles from prototyping to production within regulated financial services. Core duties:
- Architecting production-grade services integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Cohere)
- Developing prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and agent-based workflows
- Building AI platform architecture including vector databases and experiment tracking
- Implementing cloud-native services (Docker, Kubernetes, serverless)
- Establishing AI governance aligned with FCA, PRA, GDPR, and ISO 42001 standards
- Mentoring engineering teams and setting technical direction
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years software engineering experience, strong Python proficiency in production environments (FastAPI/Starlette)
- Proven experience shipping production services with public LLM APIs
- Understanding of LLM fundamentals (tokenization, embeddings, fine-tuning trade-offs)
- Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Background in regulated environments (financial services, banking, fintech)
- Data engineering fundamentals (SQL, Parquet/Arrow, ETL/ELT patterns, Airflow/Prefect)
- Technical leadership track record with architecture contributions and mentoring
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open-source/self-hosted LLMs (Llama, Mistral)
- LLM evaluation and prompt-testing frameworks
- Advanced retrieval techniques (hybrid search, re-ranking, knowledge graphs)
- Multi-agent system design experience
- Insurance or underwriting domain knowledge
- ISO 42001 governance experience
- Open-source AI/ML contributions
