About the Role:

A Senior AI Engineer role involving design and delivery of advanced AI systems addressing complex challenges in insurance and reinsurance. The position emphasizes end-to-end AI systems, from problem framing and data ingestion to deployment, while maintaining hands-on involvement in coding and experimentation. Key responsibilities include architecting agentic and workflow-driven solutions, translating business problems into scalable designs, developing LLM applications, establishing best practices, and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement end-to-end AI systems with production deployment and monitoring
  • Remain actively hands-on in coding and experimentation
  • Architect agentic and workflow-driven AI solutions integrating LLMs, tools, and structured data across complex business processes
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined system designs
  • Develop robust LLM applications including RAG systems, multi-step reasoning pipelines, and document understanding systems
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies
  • Establish AI engineering best practices
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate across global teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in computer science, AI, machine learning, engineering, or related field
  • 5-8+ years hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML systems in production
  • Proven experience designing agentic or workflow-based AI systems
  • Expertise in LLM-based systems and prompt engineering
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) experience
  • Vector databases and embeddings experience
  • Multi-step AI pipeline orchestration experience
  • Model fine-tuning and adaptation experience
  • Strong Python proficiency and software engineering skills (scalable design, testing, CI/CD)
  • MLOps experience including model lifecycle management and evaluation frameworks
  • Problem decomposition and stakeholder communication abilities
  • Experience leading large, multi-location delivery teams

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Palantir ecosystem experience
  • Insurance or reinsurance background
  • Document-heavy or workflow-driven AI use case exposure
