About the Role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our Agentic Commerce Program, shopping area of zooplus. You will design, build, and operate production-grade AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate production-grade AI services and backend applications in Python
• Design LLM-powered workflows including prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, and tool calling
• Establish API contracts
• Implement safety controls like validation, guardrails, fallbacks, and error handling
• Monitor production systems using logs, metrics, traces, and AI observability tooling
• Partner with product owners and stakeholders to productionize AI use cases

Requirements

• Strong Python and backend engineering for production services
• Proven experience shipping LLM applications to production
• Expertise in prompt engineering, structured outputs, context management, tool calling
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or Bedrock integrations
• API design, testing, deployment, observability, evaluation proficiency
• Understanding of AI safety, reliability, guardrails, and output validation

Nice to Have

• LLM orchestration frameworks: LangChain, MCP, RAG, Graph databases
• Infrastructure as Code and performance testing
• Java, Kotlin, React experience
• Prototyping tools (Streamlit, Jupyter)
• Applied NLP background
